On June 12, 2022, UCCA, together with Youku Kids, the Beijing Ullens Foundation for the Arts, and the Chinese Red Cross Foundation, brought a fun "Poetry Adventure" themed event to children. China's Magic Finger Wizard was among the invited guests, and was the guest performer.

Fan Xiaohe, the Chinese Magic Finger Wizard, performed one of Chopin's most famous ballades, the Ballade in D-flat Major (also known as the Puppy Ballade), and Beethoven's Pathétique Sonata, a perfect example of the music he recorded when he was 28 years old.

Next came 7-year-old Li Muzheng, who played "The Dance of the Wild Bees" by Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov; 6-year-old Yang Junxi, who played Mozart's famously innocent "Mozart Sonata in C Major K545"; and then Li Muzheng and Yang Junxi, who played Schubert's famous "March of the Troops" with four hands, with a perfect understanding of each other.

Finally, Zhou Xinnuo played Karl Böhm's Fountain and Mendelssohn's Venetian Boat Song.

The piano performance of the Chinese Magic Finger Wizard was not only exquisite, but also courteous and elegant, presenting a wonderful feast for the senses, with the audience applauding and marveling.

After the beautiful piano performance, children at the scene were led by Dr. Liu Liduo from the Chinese Department of Peking University in the "Romantic Poetry Garden" Poetry Encounter Workshop to feel the charm of poetry, stimulate their imagination of words, and encourage them to create their own unique poems. On the screen, they will feel the poetry in the animation of the French Symbolist poets; off the screen, they will use poetry to depict their dreams, and use the piano to express their love and emotion.

This "Poetry Adventure" theme activity aims to send love and care to migrant children by means of art and provide positive psychological comfort. For the children, this is a wonderful feast of poetry and images, a marvelous journey of encountering art and music, and an exceptionally precious parent-child interaction.

The China Magic Fingers Elf Junior Pianist Team, together with UCCA, looks forward to continuing to brighten the lives of children and brighten their lives through art.

May your life, and ours, be as clear and fearless as a child.
